When you're picking the lesser of two evils ...
You better know something is wrong when you find yourself choosing between "the lesser of two evils." I saw a bumper sticker recently that said, "When you choose the lesser of two evils, you get evil every time." It struck me how apt that saying is for this (perhaps most?) election.

I can't seem to think of any more to say on that. I see Kerry and Bush as two evils. We're stuck with two guys to choose from (b/c there's no good support for third parties in our current majority rules electoral college process). Isn't it strange that we choose the next "American Idol" from a pool of thousands upon thousands of candidates, but we choose our president from a miniscule pool (maybe a couple hundred at most?)?

These realities should upset all americans. But ask yourself: when was the last time you saw someone who was pissed about both Bush and Kerry?

Comments:
right on. however, i would argue that the bumper sticker statement implies that you can actually make a non-evil choice.

regarding choices of government, i don't believe there is any choice devoid of evil. evil exists. what remains is a question of how much evil we are willing to tolerate.

go third parties! heck, let's have four!

I agree with you there should be more parties than 2. I thought it would happen 1 time before sadly no. But look on the brite side. No matter who is president they can't do a thing because of previous deals that other presidents have made. Hence osama. But you are doing the right thing in listening to your brother get it out.
